We had dinner one weekend over at our friends, "The Glaze's" house. The boys played in the yard and had a blast in this summer heat. Braxton is 2 years old, but he and Hayes are becoming best buddies. Here are some fun pics.
Hayes is enrolled in a Gymboree Play & Learn class and he thinks its AWESOME. There are about 8-10 other little ones in the class, both girls and boys. They learn lots of new skills by participating in new activities, singing songs, and climbing the obstacle courses. Hayes LOVES to climb. That is his favorite thing ever.....besides playing with any kind of ball "Ball Ball." We go every Tuesday afternoon and needless to say...it wears me out more than it does him. Surprisingly several of us mommies are prego and we are all laughing as we have no energy or breathe after chasing after our toddlers. Hayes is all over the place...he particularly likes the activities that require balance, slides, pushing, peek-a-boo, and he will run to the end of the air log and jump off into my arms with the biggest smile EVER. He is not scared of a thing and plays HARD the whole time. The biggest challenge is that he is so independent and he is so outgoing....that is a good thing...but I am constantly having to bring him back to the group activity on the center mat and try to let him still interact with the other kids without stealing their mommies away from them or their toys....or the teacher...or the clown GYMBO that he carries around the whole time. Its a trip. The other mothers comment on how independent he is and how good of a walker/runner he is....that makes me proud. He's one smart kiddo. We also tried a music class because Hayes loves to dance and loves music. The theme of the class was Elvis. He did not care for that so much. There was not anything to climb on and it was a little too structured...so he pitched a fit bc he did not want to do some of the activities. He was by far one of the youngest though, so maybe we should try that again when he's a little older.
Today we celebrated the 4th at my parents house. We grilled out burgers and Hayes discovered he likes sausage and bacon while we were there. We decided to spend the night so we could spend more time over there. We were going to watch the fireworks, but it was getting too late...so we watched the movie, "Crazy Heart". Here are some pics from the day. Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday weekend. We miss you Brian and Michelle. Glad you made it to your new house and successfully drove across the USA.
So if you have not taken your kids to the Roswell Splash Park....you should. Hayes LOVED it! It was so cute to watch him run around and make all these crazy faces as the water sprayed all over and around him. Chris and I were trying hard to keep up, but the water was a little chilly for us. Hayes had no problem and just jumped in. He kept running off to grab people's shoes or go talk to strangers sitting along the edge. That child is the most friendly and outgoing little thing. The funniest part was when he walked up behind this little girl that was about 7 years old and he planted one hand on each of her butt-cheeks. We died laughing bc her face was priceless, but we knew we quickly needed to grab him and let him know that was not appropriate. LOL! He is a character...I guess her bathing suit was just too colorful and right at eye level...he couldn't help himself. Poor girl! Ha! If anyone is interested in a play date to the splash park....we are in. Its only $1.
Well Brother and Michelle are off on their way. We were so sad to say good-bye, but we know that we will see them soon and we are excited for this new adventure in their lives. They are driving across the USA as we speak and should arrive sometime toward the end of the week. You can follow their journey on their blog at this address: http://bragassafamily.blogspot.com/Here are some pics from the night before the left. We ate at Pampas and mom has the table decrated so cute with red, white and blue for the Air Force and their desert came out on a plate that had "California Bound" written in chocolate. So cute! Love you guys and we will miss you so much. I plan to visit them in Cali at the end of July and they plan to return for Christmas and the arrival of Baby Airhart #2.
