Katherine is 7 Months

What a GREAT baby we have! I am not even kidding you. She is so good. My dad calls her a "Peach." She is 7 months now and is so even keeled. She definitely has her moments, but for the most part gives me no trouble at all. Hope that doesn't mean her teen years will be a nightmare. LOL! She is crawling all over the place, sitting, and even trying to pull up. She doesn't like to be held anymore because she has things to see and explore...and well....EAT. The child puts everything in her mouth. Her favorite thing seems to be Hayes' cars. No matter what I give her to play with, she will make he way to his toys and find a car. I also can't seem to keep her on the carpet, she keeps going to the wood floor so she can bang whatever she is playing with and make loud noises. She is SUPER smiley and laughs all the time. She squeals with excitement and giggles all the time. She LOVES to jump. Every time I hold her she jumps up and down constantly. She is still not sleeping all night, but we just give her a dream feed to do the trick. I think I have come to realize that she is just not one of those kids that can go 12 hours without eating. She goes 7:30pm-11pm-DREAM FEED-11:00pm-7:00am, which is not that bad. She takes 2-3 naps a day. We are trying to get rid of the late evening one and for the last three nights she has gone without it and crashes at 7:30 on the dot. Her other naps are 1 hour after she gets up (about 1-2 hours) and again around 12-1pm. I try to time it right everyday so that the kids nap at the same time.....then I can nap or at least get a break :) She took awhile to adjust to rice cereal and other baby foods, but is now on board 2 times a day. She will let you know when she doesn't want anymore though and if you don't listen, she will puke on you later. Learned that the hard way. She LOVES her brother the most. She is quite the mama's girl, but the minute she sees Hayes in the morning or after nap, her eyes light up and she has a HUGE smile, gasps, and practically jumps out on my arms. That makes me very happy to see them interact and can't wait to see them play together later. She also LOVES her daddy. When he walks into the room or gets home from work...she is so happy with a HUGE smile. That melts my heart. Chris is the absolute best father I could ever ask for. I am so blessed. We are having so much fun with our little family. In addition to Sweet Hayes, our little Kate Kate Snake (we need to come up with a new nickname) is such a blessing and we love her and little monkey to pieces. She is called "Kate Kate Snake" because she opens her mouth all the time really wide and when she wants something, she gets up and lunges after it like a snake. Can't believe she is 7 months!

Hayes is 26 months!

This boy has been outright cracking me up this week. He has be SO GOOD this week. What a blessing. Everytime that he does something that I don't want him to and have to get on to him, he says, "I'm Sorry." (with a very sad face and bows his head) Its so cute. He's totally playing me, but I'll take that any day over a raging fit. If he doesn't say, "I'm sorry," he does something funny and pretends to laugh or he scrunches up his shoulders and leans his head over and gives you this REALLY BIG grin. How can you be mad at him. He has been running up to me all week and hugging my legs and saying, "I love you Mommy." Today at Costco he was riding in the buggy and said, "Hug me" and kept saying it over and over. What a little lover we have on our hands. Melts a mamas heart every time.

He has flipped a switch and is not talking NON STOP and says everything and it speaking in sentences practically, maybe more like phrases, but its amazing to me how much he has changed over such a short time. I couldn't possible write all the things he says, but here are some highlights:
  • I Get It- When he wants something
  • Yeah, Sure
  • Bob Da Buudder- Bob The Builder
  • Manner- Mater (Disney's Mater's Tall Tales)
  • No Sop- Not a fan of this one, he yells, "No Sop" when hes retaliating at me
  • Go Back- When he wants you to move or leave him alone
  • Help- when Chris or I kiss on him too much and he can't get away
  • Oh No, Hayes- (in a concerned voice) When he falls, drops a toy, or does something he knows he shouldn't
  • I Coming
  • Hom Ere- Come Here and Waves his little hand
  • Yes-Sam- Because I am making him say "Yes Ma'am" to me when I am trying to discipline him
  • Pirate Sip- He is in love with pirates right now
  • Star- Guitar......The child LOVES guitars.....Like his Mommy!
  • Finnaarr- Finger
  • Hands or Prayer- to say the blessing, wants to hold hands and then he say "Amen"
  • OK- when he falls and he is not hurt
  • It's Ok Kate- When she cries and he pats her on the back
  • Rack Coming- Its a tickle game that we made up and say "Is the Rat coming" and pretends its running up his leg and tickes him....He LOVES that game
  • Watch tv
  • Watch the Rat- Ratatouille-Loves that movie
  • My Turn
  • Mine....Everything he says is Mine...EVERYTHING
  • Spuudder- Scooter
  • What's Thaaat- He asks that question over and over and points around the room
  • I wanna have it

Our First Family Trip to Destin, Florida

Lots more pics to come.....

Chris and I decided to take the kids and my parents to Destin, FL for a family trip. Besides our honeymoon, we had not been anywhere together. I really wanted to show the beach to our sweet Hayes. Michelle's aunt and uncle own a cabin down there that they so graciously let us rent out and Michelle made the trip even better when we heard she would be joining us. Love that girl!!!
We had a wonderful time. We somehow managed to have a great time EVEN with two little ones. Hayes LOVED the beach and swimming in the pool at our house. It was a great week spent with family and we needed that so much. We also had some great food. Chris and I even got to escape to The Whale's Tail for a breakfast date alone on the water. How nice is that? Chris, Michelle and I went out one night to AJ's at Harbor Walk and we listened to live music, walked the boardwalk, visited a margarita shop where we had "The Jester" (strongest drink in Destin) and we danced all night. What a blast we had. The people watching was the BEST part. Our vacation would not have been complete without a visit to Michelle's aunt and uncles beautiful home in Navare Beach. They were so sweet to host a shrimp boil for us and Hayes was able to ride a jet ski for the first time. They are very sweet people. Enjoy some pictures.....there are a lot :)
